Daniel heard the throat being cleared. He knew Paul was there. He'd been aware of the apartment door opening, he'd been aware of the shower coming on, he'd even been aware of when Paul had finally plopped down on the couch beside him, wearing nothing but Daniel's spare robe.

"Daniel?"

"Paul."

Daniel turned another page.

"Daniel!"

Daniel finished reading the page before he finally asked. "Yes, Paul?"

"Are you going to read the entire time I'm here?" Paul crossed his arms over his chest.

"Of course not!"

"Well..." Paul began.

"I'll be finished in a couple of hours!" Daniel assured with a smile.

"Damn it, Daniel!"

"I'm almost done!" Daniel didn't even bother to look up from the page. 

"You said that on the phone four hours ago!" Paul snorted.

"That was four hours ago?" Daniel wrinkled his brow.

"Yes!"

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"Oh!" Daniel shrugged. "I'll be done soon."

"Yeah, right!" 

"Paul, you need to learn patience!" 

"I have patience! I've been waiting four hours! Now, put the book down..."

"One more page."

"Daniel, step away from the book!" 

"Paul..."

"Daniel..."

"Paul!"

"Daniel!"

"I'm almost done!"

Daniel heard the sigh and smirked. "Emotional blackmail will not work, Paul."

Paul grabbed the controls to the television off of the end table and rapidly flipped through the channels.

"Give me another half hour." Daniel could almost 'hear' the pouting. 

A shift upon the couch and fingers began to trace patterns upon Daniel's leg. "I'm reading, Paul."

"I didn't say a word, Daniel! You--just keep doing what you're doing... I'll just entertain myself."

Peeking over the edge of his book, Daniel looked at Paul. Paul smiled.

Daniel looked back at his book with a sigh, temptation pulling him in two different directions.

Finger continued to dance over his leg, tracing nonsensical symbols that eventually Daniel realized were...

"Hieroglyphics?"

Paul grinned, re-tracing them higher upon Daniel's thigh. 

"That's dirty pool, Paul."

"Hey, I didn't say a word, continue to do whatever it is that makes you happiest. I'm just sitting here." 

Daniel narrowed his eyes for a second and returned to his reading. "A little to the left..."

Paul snorted and complied easily. "Anything else you require, my liege?"

"More coffee?"

Daniel ducked as the throw pillow came down upon his head. "Is that a no?"

"The things I do for you..." Paul sighed as he stood.

"Sugar, no cream!"

"Yeah, yeah!"

Smiling, he waited until Paul sat back down before asking. "Oreos?"

"Don't push it, Daniel!"

"I had to try." Laughing, he turned a page.

Fingers once more danced lightly over his leg and Daniel noticed the edge of his own robe being crept up and back. "Paul, what are you doing?"

"Nuthin'"

"Could you do nuthin' a little more to the right... Oh!"

Paul laughed. "Too far to the right?"

Daniel gasped, lowering the book and throwing it to the side. "Just... right..." 

A hand pulled Daniel's head forward for a deep kiss before Paul shifted and pulled away to slide off the couch and settle in front of him. Pushing his thighs further apart, Paul leaned forward, running his tongue along Daniel's length. Swirling the tip of his tongue around the head before pulling back. "What about your book?"

"Huh?" Daniel asked, dazed.

"Your book. You were reading it, wanted to finish it..."

"Fuck the book! I can read anytime!" Daniel leaned forward and caught Paul in a fierce kiss, pushing him backwards onto the floor.

"Oooo such language, Doctor Jackson!" Paul gasped as Daniel pulled away. 

"Hush!" Daniel pulled him into another kiss while a hand unfastened Paul's robed and traveled the length of his body. 

Kissing a path from Paul's mouth to jaw and to neck, moaning as Paul pulled open Daniel's robe, Paul's hands roaming over his body. 

Daniel pushed against Paul, rubbing against him, rocking together as they kissed and nipped at each other's lips and necks. Abruptly, Daniel pulled Paul up into a sitting position. "Bedroom! Now!"

"Yes, sir!" Paul gave him a mock salute before scrambling to his feet and barely beating the other man to the bedroom. 

Daniel tackled him to the bed and rolled him over onto his back. "I love you..."

"More than 'Harry Potter'?"

"More than 'Harry Potter'!" Daniel laughed, kissing Paul while fingers worked their way down his body.

Paul moaned into Daniel's mouth. A click and a snap and then slick fingers slid deep inside, turning the moan into more of a groan as he arched into the touch. 

Shifting his position again, Daniel pulled Paul's legs up and over his shoulders, a hand wrapping around Paul's length as he pushed inside the impossibly tight and hot body underneath of him.

Paul panted as he fisted the sheets. "God-- Daniel-- please..."

Daniel stroked Paul in time with his driving rhythm, Paul's breathing becoming harsher and more urgent with every thrust. "Paul, love you..." 

Paul moaned his release as Daniel collapsed, then shifted to pull Paul into a close embrace, kissing him gently. "I love you too, Daniel."

Closing his eyes, Paul pulled a blanket up over him and settled down onto the pillow. After a few moments he felt the bed shift a little and he looked up. "Daniel?"

"I'm going to go get my book!"

Daniel caught the pillow, hugging it to him as he went through the door grinning.
